How to Apply the Law of Attraction at Bedtime 4 Practices for Positive Manifesting
BOUNDARIES – First on the list is setting boundaries. If you want to apply the law of attraction to your nighttime routine, know that it is just as much about what you don’t do as it is what you choose to do differently. The time you spend in preparation for sleep is sacred and needs to be treated as such, so think nurturing rituals that set the tone for a restful and pleasant sleep.
You can begin by assessing your current before-sleep habits. Do you think about what you forgot to do, the troubles of the day, stuff you need to take care of, or financial issues? These are all thoughts that are best relegated to daytime hours with a purposeful approach. So, no calculating what needs to be paid, where you can get the money from, and no thinking about your biggest worries and the things you think you’ve screwed up. I know bedtime can seem like an inviting piece of property on which to work out all the troubles of the day, especially if it’s the first crack you have at your own thoughts in your busy household, but it’s counterproductive and it’s hurting you.
I’m not asking you to ignore your troubles, only to find a place and a way to approach them with greater care and with the respect you deserve. It is a discipline that will take time if you’re in the habit of letting your mind do whatever the heck it wants once it hits that pillow. But I’m telling you, it will be well worth the effort to change up that scenario, starting now. What you will experience is better flow, less propensity to worry, inner peace, and the grand opening to a new way of thinking and feeling. Just stay with it.
REVIEW – I know I said bedtime is not the place to go over the things you forgot to do, or the ways in which you believe you have messed up, but I’m not talking about this kind of harsh, conditional self-defeat. We’re speaking here of the unconditional way in which you can presence yourself with a little grace and gratitude. The carrot and not the stick. It goes like this. The night before you will have done what I’m going to suggest next on this list of how to apply the law of attraction at bedtime. It will come together once we get to that. Your review will include paying gratitude for all the blessings of the day, no matter how small, and taking inventory of your accomplishments.
Next, you will notice, with unconditional self-love and a non-judgmental focus, that which you didn’t do as well as you’d like. The purpose is not to berate yourself, but simply to witness the how and why of your actions. Just note them and anything that comes up around resistance, overwhelm, or internal pressure. Don’t try to change it or judge it. Just be aware and move onto the next step.
INTEND – Now you can take your findings from the day and use it to create an intention for the following day. What were you happy with from your day? What were you missing? What do you want for tomorrow? This is an opportunity for setting a simple goal and intention that builds upon the present day. One that will continually move you forward into your tomorrows. Don’t go overboard, keep it simple and extend your new intention based on corrections you are making for today and intuitive inspirations for the next day.
It could be as simple as deciding you would like to respond to others in the moment, or as close to the moment as you can, rather than let things fester. It could be the intention to focus more on your breath when you feel stressed. Perhaps it’s the intention to express love rather than holding back on extending it by way of encouragement, by being free with compliments, or being of service to someone. It’s up to you. Your heart will tell you what it wants. These small steps yield big results and are indeed an effective way to apply the law of attraction.
ASK – One of the best ways to apply the law of attraction is to actively ask for what feels of importance to you. This one is a two-parter. First you will ask the universe for what you desire most. Just put it out there. Make the statement and see it in your mind as though it is already in the here and now, or as if it is steadily on its way to you. Even better, if you can drift off to sleep with a mental image that includes you, in the present, partaking in the place or event you wish to see to fruition. Keep it simple and don’t drift away to other thoughts. Should your mind wander, bring it back to one simple scene that includes you in the here and now participating in your wonderful wish. Smell it, feel it, see it in your mind.
Part two is all about now putting a question to yourself. You might want to do this one first if you want to employ the above visualization exercise that will take you into a peaceful dream state. Think of one thing to which you would like to have more insight. It could pertain to a change your contemplating, to an obstacle you’d like to overcome, or maybe it’s about having a better understanding of how to find your creative talents… something you wish to explore. Choose one and ask yourself to reveal your inner wisdom via your dreams. To practice the law of attraction in this manner, you’ll need to build upon it by doing it with regularity. The effect will not be immediate, but with time you can train your subconscious mind to explore the callings of your heart and your inner wisdom, while you sleep.
It’s important to note that anything that shows up in your dreams which feels of significance, you must jot down in a notebook while it is fresh in your memory. Overtime, it will reveal both intuitive messages and any feelings that can lead you to your next best steps. Don’t overthink it. Just let it flow, record details of importance, and include the feelings that they produce. You can apply the law of attraction using this exercise with little effort, and it will help you uncover things you didn’t know you needed to know.
As a last note on asking, you can also create a ritual of asking for general care. Some call it prayer. Whatever you choose to call it, be it a prayer to God or guidance from the universe, this ask doesn’t pertain to specifics in terms of your goals. Here, I like to ask for protection, direction, guidance, and healing. You can make it anything you like or whatever gives you a feeling of safety or reinforces your focus on all that is good. The cycle continues from set intentions in the evening, to gratitude and review the next night. Each day builds upon the next and you’ll look forward to bed, you’ll look forward to rising.
This is how you can apply the law of attraction to your nighttime routine. It will not only give you peace and a more restful sleep, but it could also very well change the trajectory of your current journey. It is, what for me, led to a better flow of abundance and a shift in my monetary circumstances. In the process, it also opened my creative channels. The huge boundary I set for myself, besides forbidding myself to think of finances in bed, was that I would not allow myself to think of anything that did not give me joy. The commitment to apply the law of attraction in this specific way was a life saver for me and I hope it will be the same for you.
