The following four law of attraction exercises are designed to shift you from a negative train of thought, or negative state, back to a place where you can regain a sense of hope, maybe even a sense of excitement. Although simple, it is in the employment of these uncomplicated practices that will serve as a reminder that it is indeed the little actions and choices that will continually lead you to that higher path. It’s important when you use these four law of attraction exercises that you do so with a healthy degree of self-compassion and practice them with consistency.
4 Law of Attraction Exercises to Break a Negative Cycle
GRATITUDE – Sorry, yes, I know you’ve heard this before, probably countless times. If it feels like it’s just a tedious and hokey solution to your state of being, then it means that you don’t yet know the importance of gratitude on an experiential level. Once you understand the profound and life-changing effects of gratitude, on a deeper level, you will internally feel as if there is no other way to live but in a continual state of gratitude.
There was a time when I was so consumed with overwhelm and trying circumstances that I couldn’t for the life of me see what there was to be grateful for. I can hardly believe that is the way I thought, and I want to wake that old me up and point her in the right direction. Well, I guess I did manage to awaken because now gratitude is as essential to me as air. After much time resisting gratitude, as I plummeted further into despair, I realized that if I kept resisting giving thanks for the simple things in life such as a pillow on which to lay my head, a furnace that still worked, and the love I had in my life, I risked the possibility of losing the precious things I had.
Note that law of attraction exercises requires an element of faith. Once we have reached a negative state, we are most always in a place of rejecting that which cannot be seen or scientifically proven. We cannot prove that someone really loves us, yet we have experiential proof when we love others. Every day we practice faith in countless ways without necessarily having proof or promise of a successful outcome. Perhaps the convincing argument for adopting a deepened practice of gratitude is, we have nothing to lose when we are already experiencing a state of misery.
GIVING THAT WHICH YOU WISH TO RECEIVE – It may sound counterintuitive to focus on giving when you feel most in need, but it is precisely the prescription that is necessary for what currently ails you. Thinking of others and how you can be of service, whether it is service in monetary form, of time loaned, or your heart extended, will take you out of your self-consumed state and circle you back to that life-altering gratitude. That’s right, the joy of seeing someone else receive the blessings you wish to have for yourself will prompt you to feel grateful for the experience it brings.
Of all the law of attraction exercises, this one in particular is a powerhouse of feel-good, negativity-breaking, practices that will expand all possibilities. Now, the catch is your heart must be in it and you must practice this exercise without any attachment of having something returned. The reward is in the giving, the effect is an elevation of your state of being. I can say, however, that when you are focused on giving, without any strings attached, you will begin to experience synchronicities and positive rewards that will expand your understanding of the possibilities that lie ahead. There is no other negative cycle-breaking exercise that parallels.
PREPARATION – You can practice effortless preparation for that which you wish to receive by taking action in anticipation of its arrival. Don’t overcomplicate by spending a lot of mental energy on this one. Simply place your awareness on everyday thoughts that enter your mind such as the new pair of shoes you want, the event you wish to attend, the business arrangement you wish to secure, or anything that pertains to your unique circumstances and the wishes you have. When you think about one of these things that you desire, ask yourself what you need to have in place when you receive the realization of your desire, and then prepare for it.
It could be as simple as ditching those old shoes you’re hanging onto because you don’t know when you’ll be able to afford the ones you really want, or it could mean that you purchase something special to wear to the event you have not yet been able to book, or it might mean that you take the time to put yourself together early every morning so that you look the part for your new business venture. Start small with simple measures such as preparing a spot in your home that will house that special item that will reflect your newfound success, or that mirrors the joy you previously denied yourself. The exercise is to practice preparation as a form of inner knowing, inner conformation, of that which is steadily on its way to you.
With time, you’ll find that your solid belief and acceptance by way of preparation will help you solidify the materialization of that which you envision. Start small, for surely if this exercise feels like a waste of time to you or like a grandiose statement in any way, it will not result in success. These law of attraction exercises are designed to bring you the experience of joy and accomplishment, small wins that will help you discover the power of thought in action.
ASK A QUESTION – The final of the four law of attraction exercises is about asking for help and putting a question out there that extends beyond the limits of your own mind and state. This exercise is about tuning into something greater than yourself, a sort of key-turning action that is designed to unlock a negative, closed state. There is no doubt that the cycle of negativity has everything to do with shutting down, losing hope and closing the door on faith. I’m not speaking of religious faith, but the glimmer of hope inside that keeps us on track.
In this exercise, you will ask a question that is outside of your brooding state, as if to waken your heart and extend it as a lifeline. The question should be simple in nature such as “what am I not seeing here?” or “what will help me feel better in this moment?” or “what if ______ is leading me to something better?” Now, the most important part in this exercise is that you must not ask with sinical intent. The purpose is to create an opening where there currently is none.
The second vital component is that you must also allow yourself to quiet your mind and rest your listening upon the workings of your heart, for it is by way of the heart that you will connect with your higher wisdom. And understand that your higher wisdom is about something much greater than you. It is indeed, the you, that is but a part of everything, a part of universal wisdom and intelligence that is infinitely more useful than the current limitations of your own mind. It naturally requires a sense of openness in order to receive intuitive answers.
This may perhaps be a large ask should you feel particularly negative in your state, as it depends upon the mental decision to let go of preconceived ideas and resistance. In order to work, you must create an opening both in your heart and your mind. It is only from this position that you will create the quiet space to hear the answer. It may come as a thought. It may come through someone else’s lips. It may even be delivered via a line in a movie or words in a book. The important thing is that you are attuned to listen in the most open way that you can. The answer will not be huge to solve your every life issue, but it will indeed be the direction to your next best step. The beauty of this exercise is that you can do it again and again, continually practicing it throughout your life and forever being guided by its wise directive. Of all these law of attraction exercises, this is the one you will turn to over-and-over again as a daily practice and a way of life.
